We return to our monthly Klezmer jams this month, January 11. We’re starting to adopt a bit of structure for each session, something like:
1. A (re-) introduction to Klezmer and the Freygish scale
2. Building repertoire. Playing some old favorites and moving off-book
3. Discovering lost Klezmer material. A trove of older lost tunes, we wil try to do one or two each month
4. Something by ear. Try to learn a tune just by ear, in the Klezmer tradition

KlezWest is an informal group of musicians, dancers, Yiddish speakers and friends who love to explore, play and dance to klezmer music. We meet monthly to learn songs together, practice different kinds of Yiddish dance, and connect.
